I know, it has been forever since I have updated! We were having problems getting our internet up and running. And using someone else's computer to update just couldn't work. I needed the time to be able to just sit down and write and put pictures on. I ask that you have patience, this is a long over-due update. So, here we go... Leighton's party that I mentioned in my last blog was really fun. We had a great time decorating and dressing up.
Myself, Leighton, and Wendy Not long after Lei's birthday we had our junior youth's Holiday Club (Vacation Bible School). The theme was outer-space. It was so much fun! The only prop was that I got sick on the last day!
This is a pic our our stage. The spacey background was painted by a bunch of the high school youth (Rattpack) In this picture from left to right is Wendy, myself, Pierre, and Micah. We were doing a skit called "Beam Me Up". Everyday we had a part of the "Beam Me Up" skit. Our characters we're alien scientists wanting to know more about this Jesus person we kept hearing about. So each day we would "beam" someone from Earth and question them about Jesus. In this play we "beamed up" Pierre, whose character was Lazarus.
This is a pic of the scientists from planet Snorg. From the left is Galaxy (Wendy), Sparky (Micah), and Nova (myself). Each day I tried to do something freaky with my hair, because us as leaders were supposed to be from space! Pretty cool, huh? Leighton did it for me.
Here is a pic of me and my class. I had the third and fourth graders. A few moths later we threw a surprise birthday party for Wendy. It just so happened to be on John-Mark's birthday so we made it a combined party. But it was only Wendy who didn't know about it.
It looked as if a balloon and streamer monster threw up all over our living room! From the girl whose back of her head you can see, clockwise: Kimberly, Shannon, Pierre, Micah, Jordan, Lebo, John-Mark, and Freedom.
Jordan, Lebo, Freedom, and Wendy. It was Wendy's 16th and John-Mark's 17th. Now, over here my mom is famous for her homemade ginger beer. She got it out of a children's cook book and adapted it to her own perfection. A particular bottle had been sitting in our fridge for about two months and had matured....
This is Pierre. He had eight glasses of my mother's matured ginger beer, on an empty stomach! Well, needless to say he was a little happier than most at the party. We now call him "Ginger-Pierre". Here are some fun pictures of some chalk graffiti we did on the road one lazy sunday in front of Kimberly's house. Micah, he's a star.
Leighton declaring her love for Wesley for all passer-byers to see.
Me stating my favorite quote from Shakespear's Midsummer's Nights Dream, "What fools these mortals be." Jannine's 16th birthday was theme'd that you had to come dressed as something beginning with an "S". I went as a schizophrenic (someone with multiple personalities).
My dark side. My angelic side.
I'm a schizophrenic and so am I. Leighton as a Sixties Chic and me and myself. Here are some random pics.

Amanda. Is this girl not absolutely adorable?
Fun in the rain. Shannon, Ruby, Elaine, Julie, and myself.
(Left) Leighton and her man Wesley. (Right) My bro, Andy. This was the day he got back from the states. The following pictures are from Summer Camp '06.
I LOVE this photo! Starting with myself (in pink) going clockwise. Me, Rachelle, Alana, Leighton, Abby, Rosey, Rachel, Joni, Natasha, Lisa, Kate, Steph, and Kimberly.
Leighton, Abby, and me. Me.
Our youth banner held by Brian and Micah. Brian and I painted it.
There was a six-pack competition at camp. The MC's called up five volunteers. They had four, and our youth was SCREEMING that Michael (my man) should go up. He didn't want to at all. We were sitting pretty close to the stage and the MC's heard us so one of them came to our row and asked Michael to go up. He said no way! So i told the MC that his name was Michael. The MC started chanting "Michael, Michael" into the mic and eventually the whole camp (1500 people) started as well. So needless to say the pressure got to Michael and he went up. And guess what..... HE WON!!!!!
Michael showing off his sexy pecks and abs decorated in handprint sunscreen.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Wesley and Leighton.
Joni and her crazy boyfriend Carel.
Carel, Michael, and Jaques. The boys had a Zoolander thing going on all camp.... It was scary, but funny.
Michael and Jaques in a pout battle.
My boyfriend, ladies and gentlemen.

I think this is a cool pic, even if i do look like a bug with a cowboy hat...
The Rattpack.
On the way back from camp all the boys strangely need to go at the same time. Left to right. Michael, Brian, Jaques, Roelof, Micah, Nathan (who obviously needed some help from Wesley), Wes, Carel, and Dean. That was our Summer Camp. It was definitely one of the best ever! ....Ok, everything else has been good for the most part. Not much to report on. My cousin Bryn sadly died on the 14th of January from a heart attack. He was 23 years old. So if you all could keep our family in your prayers I would appreciate it. I'm still trying to get into wedding planning and at the same time am still working for Michael's dad as a secretary. Michael has sent his reseme to a big company called Anglo Platinum Mines. We're waiting to hear from them. He will probably have to study for another two years while working. My brother is in Port Elizabeth visiting our old youth pastor. And my parents are in the States and will only be back on the 17th of March. Oh yeah, I'm writing a book. I can't say what its about because I don't want anyone to steal my idea, but I think it's going to be good. That's about it for now. I hope I haven't overloaded my readers. Luv ya'z Niks |
